Over the past decade, the division has grown tremendously, securing major projects, including the $350 million North City Pure Water Facility in San Diego at the $200 million Groundwater Replenishment System in Orange County.

Legacy Foundations
Since the mid-1990s, Legacy Foundations, a Shimmick company, has been providing self-perform geotechnical and foundations services on heavy civil projects. Legacy offers competitive pricing, a complete portfolio of deep foundation, slope stabilization, shoring systems, and ground improvement services. On the $875 million HART Airport Guideway and Stations project, Legacy successfully installed 357 feet of 10-foot diameter permanent casing to a bottom of pile elevation of negative 332 feet making deep foundation construction history in North America.

National Division
Shimmick’s National Division operates throughout the central and eastern U.S. Comprised of legacy companies, such as Morrison Knudsen, Washington Group, and others, this division has decades-long history of delivering successful transportation, transit, mining infrastructure, and water resources projects. In addition to state DOTs and transit agencies, the National Division has delivered more than $5 billion in work for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, primarily in the water resources (dams, reservoirs, locks, levees) sector. The National Division is delivering Oklahoma Turnpike Authority’s first build-finance project, the $260 million Gilcrease Expressway project in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
