Overview

Rust Constructors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Large Equipment (Crane) Operator to support our Lake Lewisville Dam Project located in Lewisville, TX.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities of the Crane Operator include but are not limited to the following:

 

Level Specific responsibilities: 

  • Under direct supervision, performs routine duties.
  • Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard construction techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic construction specifications.
  • Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate mobile and/or tower cranes with lifting capacities of over 80 tons in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and project specifications.
  • Perform daily inspections and preventative maintenance of crane equipment.
  • Review load charts, rigging plans, and site conditions to ensure safe lifting operations.
  • Coordinate with riggers, signal persons, and other crew members to ensure safe and precise load handling.
  • Maintain accurate records of crane operations, inspections, and maintenance logs.
  • Adhere to all site safety regulations, company policies, and local/federal laws.
  • Assist with setup and dismantling of crane equipment as needed.
  • Report any malfunctions, safety issues, or incidents immediately to supervisors.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Five years of related experience
  • Valid crane operator certification (e.g., NCCCO) or equivalent for cranes over 80 tons.
  • Previous experience operating 150 Ton or greater crawler crane.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of load charts, rigging techniques, and crane safety protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret lift plans, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, ANSI, and local regulatory safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand plans and specifications.
  • High School Diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating Liebherr or Sany crawler cranes.
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred if required for crane transport).
  • Experience on large-scale industrial, marine, or infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with GPS, telematics, or digital crane control systems.

 Additional Information:

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

The salary for this position is $46.00 per hour.
