Shimmick is seeking a Communications Specialist based out of a remote location within the US.  

 

 

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Support day-to-day social media management across platforms for both Shimmick and Axia Electric, including content planning, copywriting, scheduling, and basic graphic design, with a focus on audience growth and engagement.
  • Assist in brand development initiatives, including the rollout of new brands and the evolution of existing ones, ensuring consistency across internal and external channels.
  • Maintain and update corporate websites to reflect current initiatives, project milestones, employee features, and company news.
  • Create and manage calendars for internal and external communications, coordinating closely with Safety, HR, IT, and Payroll to ensure timely, clear, and consistent messaging.
  • Contribute to the development of company-wide communications such as newsletters, intranet updates, and all-employee emails, ensuring tone and content reflect company values and priorities.
  • Design and produce marketing collateral for key initiatives and campaigns (e.g., Women in Construction Week, intern programs, recruiting tours), including visuals, written content, and layouts.
  • Maintain and organize proposal resume libraries and develop professional bios for employees to support business development and pursuit efforts.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or equivalent
  • 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Loomly for social media scheduling, content planning, and performance tracking.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience using Canva to design digital and print-ready graphics.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Constant Contact for developing and distributing internal and external email communications.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint for content management, file sharing, and internal communication coordination, and WordPress for maintaining and updating website content.
  • Experience using Cossential (CRM)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
  • Strong writing and editing skills for both technical and non-technical audiences across newsletters, social posts, internal announcements, and marketing materials.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Additional Information:

  • This position is based remotely within the United States.
  • Flexible and hybrid work arrangements are available based on candidate location and team needs.

The salary range for this position is between $60,000-$65,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.
