Accountant

Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Accountant I based out of Denver, CO.

Shimmick is a national Contractor that has an excellent reputation within the industry and is seeking a qualified individual to join our Accounting & Finance team.  Shimmick takes on challenging projects and performs high-quality work ranging from the world's largest wastewater recycling and purification system in California to the iconic Hoover Dam.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Performs professional level accounting support, related to complex accounting tasks
• Performs tasks related to company credit card program
• Able to perform accounting tasks within multiple ERP modules and collaborate closely with departments such as AP, AR, Payroll, Tax Compliance, GL and Project Accounting
• Responsible for journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting and able to present those reports to leadership with accuracy
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Strong communication skills and ability to multitask

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or High School diploma + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

• ERP and software system experience such as CMiC, Vista Viewpoint, or similar systems
• Construction industry experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Hands-on, positive attitude, professional, results-driven, problem solver, accountable

Additional Information:

The salary range for this position is between $40,000 - 75,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.
