Overview

Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Business Development Specialist for a remote or hybrid location within the United States with the ability to travel for work as needed.  This challenging position will provide an excellent growth opportunity while improving the infrastructure of the city.

Shimmick is a national Contractor that has an excellent reputation within the industry and is seeking a qualified individual to join our Southwest Division.  Shimmick takes on challenging projects and performs high-quality work ranging from expanding/constructing water and wastewater treatment plants to construction of the new Gerald Desmond Bridge.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Demonstrates full use and application of standard sales and business development principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
  • Follows established procedures, applies sound professional judgment and approaches problems with a variety of solutions.
  • Under direct supervision, work is reviewed for soundness of judgment.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential customers and new business opportunities.
  • Assist in lead generation through cold calling, emails, and networking.
  • Support sales and marketing teams with outreach efforts.
  • Maintain and update CRM databases with customer interactions.
  • Assist in preparing sales presentations, proposals, and reports.
  • Develop relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop strategies for growth.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the heavy civil construction industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer relationship management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

 The salary range for this position is between $70,000 - $75,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.

These benefits are available to all employees working more than 20 hours per week. Employees working less than 20 hours per week are eligible for medical, dental and vision coverage as well as EAP services.
