Overview

Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Senior Pursuit Manager to be based out of a remote location within the united States.  This challenging position will provide an excellent growth opportunity while improving the infrastructure of the city.

Shimmick is a national Contractor that has an excellent reputation within the industry and is seeking a qualified individual to join our Southwest Division.  Shimmick takes on challenging projects and performs high-quality work ranging from expanding/constructing water and wastewater treatment plants to construction of the new Gerald Desmond Bridge.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilites include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Deep understanding of the construction industry, including project delivery methods, technical specifications, and market trends.  
  • Proven track record of success in leading complex project pursuits and securing large-scale construction contracts.  
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and internal stakeholders.  
  • Strong analytical skills to assess project feasibility, identify risks, and develop winning strategies.  
  • Proficiency in proposal management software and tool 
  • Analyzing market trends, client needs, and competitor landscape to identify potential project opportunities, developing targeted pursuit strategies, and crafting compelling win plans.  
  • Assembling and managing cross-functional pursuit teams, including technical experts, estimators, marketing professionals, and business development personnel, delegating tasks, and ensuring effective collaboration.  
  • Leading the development of comprehensive proposals, including technical narratives, qualifications packages, pricing strategies, and executive summaries, ensuring compliance with RFP requirements.  
  • Building strong relationships with key decision-makers at potential clients, understanding their project needs, and tailoring proposals accordingly. 
  • Identifying potential risks associated with pursuits, developing mitigation strategies, and managing project contingencies.  
  • Preparing and coaching pursuit teams for client presentations, including Q&A sessions, to effectively communicate Shimmick's capabilities and value proposition.  
  • Conducting thorough debriefs after each pursuit, evaluating strengths and weaknesses, and incorporating learnings into future proposals.  
  • Identifying opportunities to optimize Shimmick's proposal development process, including streamlining workflows, developing new tools, and enhancing proposal quality standards.  

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance, Economics, or related field + 12 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with alternative delivery methods, task force meetings, project management, and strategic planning. 
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to develop and manage contracts. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead task force meetings and collaborate with a diverse team. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions and develop effective strategies. 
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement. 
  • Proficiency in procurement software and other relevant computer applications. 

 

 Additional Information:

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

 The salary range for this position is between $195,000.00 - $235,000.00 per year depending on experience and/or education.

These benefits are available to all employees working more than 20 hours per week. Employees working less than 20 hours per week are eligible for medical, dental and vision coverage as well as EAP services.
