Overview

Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Alternate Quality Control Senior Manager based out of Lewsiville, TX. This position requires availability to work day or night shift.  This challenging position will provide an excellent growth opportunity while improving the infrastructure of the city.

National Division

Shimmick’s National Division operates throughout the central and eastern U.S. Comprised of legacy companies, such as Morrison Knudsen, Washington Group, and others, this division has decades-long history of delivering successful transportation, transit, mining infrastructure, and water resources projects. In addition to state DOTs and transit agencies, the National Division has delivered more than $5 billion in work for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, primarily in the water resources (dams, reservoirs, locks, levees) sector. The National Division is delivering Oklahoma Turnpike Authority’s first build-finance project, the $260 million Gilcrease Expressway project in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversees the management of the monitoring and evaluation process to ensure that Shimmick quality management systems are being followed and evidence is recorded and maintained.
  • Provides guidance to employees within the latitude of established policies.
  • Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization.
  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including understanding of current business trends.
  • Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.
  • May have budget responsibilities.
  • Manages the coordination of activities of a group or department with responsibility for results.
  • In some instances, may be responsible for functional area and may not have direct reports.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership
  • Experience on construction of spillways, dams, and/or levees 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in weir anchors and/or rock dowels
  • Experience in construction work sequencing, productivity, preparation, and maintenance of detailed construction schedules.
  • Prior USACE experience
  • Prior concrete experience
  • This position requires availability to work day or night shift

Additional Information:

The salary range for this position is between $140,000 -150,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.

These benefits are available to all employees working more than 20 hours per week. Employees working less than 20 hours per week are eligible for medical, dental and vision coverage as well as EAP services.
