Southwest Division

Shimmick’s Southwest Division, headquartered in Irvine, California, focuses on large public owners in Southern California, across water resources, water treatment, transportation and transit markets. Over the past decade, the division has grown tremendously, securing major projects, including the $350 million North City Pure Water Facility in San Diego at the $200 million Groundwater Replenishment System in Orange County.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Under minimal supervision, performs complex duties utilizing advanced techniques and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and methods.
  • Organizing, managing and pricing out change orders

  • Corresponding the change order issuance with the project owner
    Manage cost reports and LDRs

  • Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications.
  • Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work.
  • Is fully competent in most aspects of the job.
  • Works on projects of substantial complexity.
  • Assumes lead responsibilities for a team of engineers and professional support staff.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in heavy civil construction projects
  • Experience managing a team of engineers
  • Producing and implementing work plans

Additional Information:

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

The salary range for this position is between $122,000 – $133,000 per year depending on experience and/or education. This position is eligible to participate in company's annual bonus program.

These benefits are available to all employees working more than 20 hours per week. Employees working less than 20 hours per week are eligible for medical, dental and vision coverage as well as EAP services.
